In October 2010, the consumer price index (CPI) increased by 0.1% (+1.6% year-on-year), after a same scope’s decrease in September.

In October 2010, the consumer price index (CPI) increased by 0.1% (+1.6% year-on-year), after a same scope’s decrease in September.
The price index without tobacco increased also by 0.1% in October (+1.5% year-on-year).
Adjusted from seasonal variations, the monthly change went up by 0.2% (+1.6% year-on-year).
This slightly increase of the prices in October came mainly from the growth of the prices of oil products and, with less importance, from the seasonal increase in prices of services. Those increases were partly counterbalanced by the weakness of the prices of manufactured products. Otherwise, the prices of food products were almost steady.
The energy prices were rising
In October 2010, the energy prices were rising (+0.9%; +11.1% year-on-year).
Slightly seasonal growth in prices of services
For seasonal reason, the prices of services were growing in October 2010 (+0.2%, as in October 2009). Year-on-year, the change reached +1.4%. The change was +1.9% in October 2009.
Prices of manufactured products slightly decreased
In October, the prices of manufactured products were slightly decreasing (–0.2%, as in October 2009; stability year-on-year). In October 2009, they were decreasing by 0.2% year-on-year.

Prices of food products almost steady
The prices of food products were almost steady in October 2010 (+01.%; +0.5% year-on-year). Prices of fresh products were increasing once again (+0.7%; +6.5% year-on-year). As for the prices of food products except fresh products, they were steady (–0.3% year-on-year).
Stability of core-inflation
Core-inflation (ISJ) was steady in October 2010 (+0.8% year-on-year).
The harmonised consumer price index (HCPI) went up by 0.1% (+1.8% year-on-year).
