In May 2010, the turnover grew in transportation and storage (+1.0 %) and, to a lesser extent, in the wholesale trade, except of motor vehicles and motorcycles (+0.4 %), in business support activities (+0.3 %) and in real state activities (+0.2 %). It was broadly steady in information and communication (+0.0 %) whereas it bounced in April (+2.1 %).
Every index in this issue is in value, seasonally and working-day ajusted.
In May 2010, the turnover grew in transportation and storage (+1.0 %) and, to a lesser extent, in the wholesale trade, except of motor vehicles and motorcycles (+0.4 %), in business support activities (+0.3 %) and in real state activities (+0.2 %). It was broadly steady in information and communication (+0.0 %) whereas it bounced in April (+2.1 %).
On a quarterly basis, the turnover increased in transportation and storage (+2.7 %, q-o-q), in the “wholesale trade…” (+1.8 %), in information and communication (+1.7 %). Since October 2009, it bounced in this three sectors. In the last three months, the turnover growth was subdued in real estate activities (+0.6 %) and weak in business support activities (+0.2 %).
Compared to the same three months of the previous year, the turnover of the last trimester stood at a higher level in transportation and storage (+3.8 %, y-o-y), in information and communication (+3.1 %) and in the “wholesale trade…” (+2.7 %), boosted by the soar in the other specialised wholesale (+8.6 %). It also increased in real estate activities (+2.3 %). Conversely, it declined in business support activities (–0.9 %).
