In May 2010, the turnover went on rising in the retail trade, except of motor vehicles and motorcycles (+0.8%). It slightly grew in accommodation and food service activities (+0.3%) and household services (+0.2%). It was steady in the trade and repair of motor vehicles and motorcycles (+0.0%).
Every index in this issue is in volume, seasonally and working-day ajusted.
In May 2010, the turnover went on rising in the retail trade, except of motor vehicles and motorcycles (+0.8%). It slightly grew in accommodation and food service activities (+0.3%) and household services (+0.2%). It was steady in the trade and repair of motor vehicles and motorcycles (+0.0%).
On a quarterly basis, the turnover expanded in the “retail trade…” (+1.5%, q-o-q) and in accommodation and food service activities (+0.9%). It slightly increased in household services (+0.2%) whereas it was broadly stable in the trade and repair of motor vehicles and motorcycles (–0.1%).
Compared to the same three months of the previous year, the turnover of the last trimester soared in the trade and repair of motor vehicles and motorcycles (+4.3%). However, it markedly stood under the level reached before the crisis. It expanded in “the retail trade…” (+3.8%) and, to a lesser extent, in accommodation and food service activities (+1.8%). Conversely, it declined in household services (–0.9%).
According to our early estimate, the turnover in the “retail trade…” is expected to decrease in June 2010 (-1.4%).
