In May 2010, economic climates’ improvement continues in manufacturing industry Monthly business survey (goods-producing industries) - May 2010

According to the business leaders questioned in May, the industrial economic situation in France continues to improve: the business climate indicator increases by one point, coming close to its long-term average. However, the turning point indicator stays to the neutral area, indicating an economic uncertainty.

Manufacturing industry

According to the business leaders questioned in May, the industrial economic situation in France continues to improve: the business climate indicator increases by one point, coming close to its long-term average. However, the turning point indicator stays to the neutral area, indicating an economic uncertainty.

Business leaders consider that their past activity has remained dynamic in manufacturing industry, still above its long-term average.

Stocks of finished goods increase noticeably but stay light. Order books continue to increase but remain low.

The personal production outlook for the next month is still near its long-term average. The general production outlook, which represents business leaders’ opinion on French industry as a whole, degrades, but stays above its long-term average.
