The improvement in economic climate marks time in manufacturing industry Monthly business survey (goods-producing industries) - November 2009

According to the business leaders questioned in November, the industrial economic situation in France stabilized. The business climate indicator remains below its long term average. The turning point indicator goes down to the unfavorable area. This change should be interpreted with caution since the data might be revised.

Manufacturing industry

Business leaders’s opinion on their past activity continues to improve near its long-term average. Stocks of finished goods remain rated inferior to their long-term, while order books, total and export, are still considered as very low.

The personal production outlook stabilizes: business leaders anticipate a rather not vigorous activity in the next months. The general production outlook, which represents business leaders’ opinion on French industry as a whole, remains near its long-term average.
