It takes place every three years.
The last survey took place in 2023–24. The survey is currently being redesigned. The next one will be conducted in 2029; there will be no survey in 2026.
The data collection is computer-assisted (Capi).

Sampling method
The data collection is at a household level, but the longitudinal follow up is on an individual level. The survey is based on four sub-samples : a sample of households of the 2014-2015 French Household Wealth Survey, one of the 2017-18 and 2020-21 surveys, and an entering subsample, extracted from fiscal datasources : a total of 17 000 households are surveyed.
