Data description

The waste survey provides quantitative information on the quantity of waste produced, compares the different treatment methods according to the sector of activity and measures the percentage of establishments that sort their waste according to the type of treatment.

The following topics are addressed:
- type of waste produced
- quantity of waste produced
- percentage of waste sorted
- waste treatment and disposal method
- food waste

Classification system

The most fields of broadcast are :

Sector  :
- 45 : Wholesale and retail trade and repair of motor vehicles and motorcycles;
- 46.1 and 46.2 : Wholesale on a fee or contract basis and wholesale of agricultural raw materials and live animals ;
- 46.3  : Wholesale of food, beverages and tobacco ;
- 46.4 and 46.5  : Wholesale of household goods and Wholesale of information and communication equipment ;
- 46.6 : Wholesale of other machinery, equipment and supplies  ;
- 46.7 : Other specialised wholesale ;
- 47.1 : Retail sale in non-specialised stores ;
- 47.2 to 47.9 : Other retail sale.

Number of employees  :
- 20 to 49 employees;
- 50 to 99 employees;
- 100 to 249 employees;
- 250 employees and more.

Sector coverage

The establishments with a code belonging to the divisions 46 and 47  (wholesale and retail trade, except of motor vehicles and motorcycles) NAF rev. 2.

Statistical unit

The unit of interrogation is the establishment, identified by its siret number.

Statistical population

The survey covers the french establishments of 20 employees or more, with NAF code belonging to the divisions 46 and 47  and 4 month of activity in 2020.
