Over a month, output fell in most sectors
In July 2025*, output fell back in transportation and storage (‑1.3% after +1.2%), and in arts, entertainment and recreation (‑2.4% after +1.8%). It went down again in real estate activities (‑1.9% after ‑0.3%) and in administrative and support service activities (‑0.7%, as in June). Output was virtually stable in professional, scientific and technical activities (‑0.1% after +1.8%) and in information and communication (‑0.1% after ‑1.1%). Conversely, it bounced back slightly in accommodation and food service activities (+0.4% after ‑1.2%).

From May to July 2025, services output rose by 2.4% compared to the same period a year earlier
Cumulative output from May to July 2025 was 2.4% higher than in the same period a year earlier. It rose across all main sectors, mainly driven by professional, scientific and technical activities (+2.6%), transportation and storage (+3.7%) and information and communication (+2.7%). Output also increased in accommodation and food services (+3.5%) and arts, entertainment and recreation (+2.0%). It rose more moderately in real estate (+1.1%) and in administrative and support service activities (+1.0%, despite a sharp decline in employment activities: ‑4.1%).
Revisions
The monthly change in the services production index for June 2025 has been revised upward by 0.1 points compared to the previous release, and now stands at +0.3% (after rounding).
