In Q2 2025, production costs in construction were almost stable over a quarter and
rose by 1.3% over a year Costs of production indices in construction - second quarter 2025
In Q2 2025, the production costs in construction were almost stable over a quarter (+0.1% after +0.8% in the previous quarter). They slowed down in building construction (+0.3% after +0.6%): the sharp downturn in energy costs (-6.4% after +3.2%) and the slowdown in materials costs (+0.1% after +0.7%) were partially offset by a rebound in miscellaneous costs (+0.4% after -0.2%). Production costs fell back in civil engineering (-0.8% after +1.3%), due to the sharp downturn in energy costs (-13.2% after +9.2%) and, to a lesser extend, in materials costs (-1.5% after +1.9%). They slowed down in specialised construction works (+0.2% after +0.7%): specialised public works materials costs fell back (-0.1% after +2.5%) and renovation materials costs slowed down slightly (+0.1% after +0.2%).
Year on year, the production costs in construction slowed down slightly (+1.3% after +1.5%). They accelerated slightly in building construction (+1.2% after +1.0%) and in specialised construction works (+1.5% after +1.4%) and they slowed down in civil engineering (+0.5% after +1.9%).
