graphiqueActivity tendency in building construction

- Source: INSEE
However, building construction managers’ opinion regarding their expected activity has deteriorated again, and the associated balance of opinion has moved away from its long period average. In detail, the opinion on expected activity has improved in both the new dwelling sector and the maintenance and improvement sector, but has clearly degraded in the other buildings sector (non dwellings). In both new building sectors (dwelling and non dwelling), the balance remains particularly degraded, well below its long-term average. In the maintenance and improvement sector, the balance remains close to its own.
The economic uncertainty felt by building construction managers has slightly increased again.

For questions with three possible answers, a balance of opinion is calculated as the difference between the percentage of “above the normal” or “increase” responses and the percentage of “below the normal” or “decrease” responses.
The responses to this survey were collected between 27 September and 21 October 2024; most companies answer during the first two weeks of collection.
