In Q2 2018, residential and non-residential buildings' maintenance and improvement work price index (IPEA) increased by +0.3%, a more moderated rise than in the previous quarter (+0.6%). Prices slowed down, in particular in roofing (+0.5% after +1.1%), in plumbing, heat and air-conditioning installation (+0.2% after +0.9%) and in joinery installation (+0.2% after +0.6%). Conversely, they accelerated in electrical installation (+1.0% after +0.6%).
Over a quarter, price slowdown is noticeable in the residential sector (+0.2% after +0.6%). They still go up by 0.5% in the non-residential sector.
Over a year, buildings' maintenance and improvement work prices increased by 1.3%, a little more than in the previous quarter (+1.2%). The rise remains marked in roofing (+2.7% after +2.6%) and to a lesser extent in electrical installation (+2.0% after +1.1%) and in plastering (+1.9% after +2.3%).
Over a year, the rise amounts to 1.3% for residential buildings and to 1.4% for non-residential buildings.
Revisions
The variation in the IPEA price index between the fourth quarter of 2017 and the first quarter of 2018 has been revised upward by 0.2 points to +0.6%.
