Information and Communication Technologies in Businesses in 2025 The Share of Enterprises Using Artificial Intelligence Tripled Between 2023 and 2025
In 2025, 18% of businesses settled in France reported using at least one artificial intelligence (AI) technology, eight points more than in 2024. This proportion was close to that observed across the European Union as a whole (20%).
The adoption of these technologies remained closely linked to the size of the company and its sector of activity. The rate of use reached 58% among companies with 250 or more employees and 59% among companies in the information and communication sector. More than one in two companies using AI used at least two AI technologies (analysis of written language, spoken or written language generation, etc.).
Among companies not using AI, 71% reported that they saw no use for it, particularly the smaller ones, and 54% cited a lack of expertise, an obstacle mentioned especially by the largest companies (250 or more employees). Similarly, more than half of companies using AI reported that their use of it was limited by a lack of expertise.
