2026 Winter Tourist Season A buoyant season driven by non‑resident customers
Attendance in collective tourist accommodation in France during the 2026 winter season was 1.8% higher than in the 2025 season, driven by a strong early season. Non‑resident customers remain the main driver of this appeal. Boosted by an ever‑growing number of European and American customers, hotels benefited more from this rise than holiday and other short‑stay accommodations.
This rise was particularly significant in Paris and in medium-sized urban areas. The decline in business attendance continued, mainly in hotels and in urban areas. Occupancy in mountain areas was sluggish, with the decline in resident attendance being offset by non‑residents one.
