This municipality has experienced contour changes since 2013 :

  • 01/01/2024 – Thouarsais-Bouildroux devient commune déléguée (chef-lieu) au sein de Rives-du-Fougerais (85292) (commune nouvelle).
  • 01/01/2024 – Création de la commune nouvelle de Rives-du-Fougerais en lieu et place des communes de Cezais (85041), de Saint-Sulpice-en-Pareds (85271) et de Thouarsais-Bouildroux (85292) devenues déléguées.
