Urban policy and family benefits in 2023 1.8 million recipient households living in Priority Neighbourhoods

More than seven out of ten residents of Priority Neighbourhoods of urban policy received at least one statutory benefit from the family benefits agencies, compared with four out of ten for the French territory as a whole. Among recipient households in these neighbourhoods, single people, single parent families, childless couples and large families were overrepresented, as opposed to couples with one or two children. The proportion of recipients of means tested benefits in Priority Neighbourhoods was significantly higher than in the rest of the country.
