In August 2024, the prices of frequently purchased goods sold in hyper and supermarkets rose by 0.2% over a month, after ‑0.2% in July. In large and predominantly food stores, the prices also rose by 0.2% over a month, after ‑0.2% in July.

Excluding hyper and supermarkets, prices rose by 0.5% over a month, after ‑0.2% in July.

Considering all kinds of stores, the prices of frequently purchased goods rose by 0.4% over a month, after ‑0.2% in July.

Year on year, the prices of frequently purchased goods sold in hyper and supermarkets decreased again

Compared to those of the same month last year, the prices of frequently purchased goods sold in hyper and supermarkets decreased again: ‑0.8% in August 2024, after ‑0.7% in July. In large and predominantly food stores, prices decreased again year on year: ‑0.6% after ‑0.5% in July.

Excluding hyper and supermarkets, the prices of frequently purchased goods slowed down slightly year on year: +0.7%, after +0.8% in July.

Considering all types of stores, the prices of frequently purchased goods were almost stable year on year (‑0.1 %), after being stable in July.

Year on year, food prices in hyper and supermarkets slowed down again

Month on month, the prices of food and beverages (excluding fresh produces) sold in hyper and supermarkets increased anew slightly in August 2024: +0.1%, after ‑0.2% in July. Year on year, these prices decreased again: ‑0.4% in August, after ‑0.3% in July.

The prices of meat sold in hyper and supermarkets rebound over one month +0.2%, after ‑0,4% in July. Year on year, they decreased: ‑1.4%, as in July.

The prices of beverages sold in hyper and supermarkets rose again: +0.4% in August, after +0.1% in July. Year on year, they increased: +0.2%, after +0.1% in July.

The prices of “other food products” were stable over one month, after ‑0.2% in July. Year on year, they fell again: ‑0.3%, after ‑0.1% in July.

Year on year, the prices of cleaning and personal care products decreased again

Month on month, the prices of cleaning and personal care products sold in hyper and supermarkets rebounded: +0.3% after ‑0.3% in July. Year on year, their decline increased slightly: ‑2.4%, after ‑2.3% in June.
