Further decrease of services output in June 2024 (‑2.0%) Index of services production - June 2024
In June, decline in services output became more pronounced over a month (-2.0%, after -0.4% in May).

Over a month, output went down in almost all sectors
In June 2024*, output fell back in information-communication (‑2.8% after +1.2%), where five out of six sub-sectors were down, and even more sharply in the arts, entertainment and recreation (‑6.9% after +5.2%). It also fell back in real estate activities (‑1.9 % after +0.5%) and in accommodation and food service activities (‑0.8% after +0.4%). Output was down again in professional, scientific and technical activities (‑1.5% after ‑0.9%), administrative and support service activities (‑1.3% after ‑1.1%) and transportation and storage (‑1.5% after ‑3.7%). Finally, it was almost stable in other service activities (+0.1% after ‑0.5%).

Over a year, output in services was up by 3.5%
Cumulated output over the second quarter of 2024 was 3.5% higher than in the same quarter of 2023. It increased clearly for professional, scientific and technical activities (+4.8%), information-communication (+5.0%), administrative and support service activities (+3.1%), arts, entertainment and recreation (+5.6%) and transportation and storage (+2.9%). Output was up more moderately in accommodation and food service activities (+1.4%) and other personal services (+0,3%). On the contrary, it dropped in real estate activities (‑0.8%).
Revisions
The monthly change in the services production index in May 2024 has been revised downwards by ‑0.1 points compared to the previous release and stands now at ‑0.4% (after rounding).
