This municipality has experienced contour changes since 2012 :

  • 01/01/2019 – Mougon reste déléguée au sein d'Aigondigné (79185) (commune nouvelle).
  • 01/01/2019 – Création de la commune nouvelle d'Aigondigné en lieu et place des communes d'Aigonnay (79004), de Mougon-Thorigné (79185) et de Sainte-Blandine (79240).
  • 01/01/2017 – Mougon devient commune déléguée (chef-lieu) au sein de Mougon-Thorigné (79185) (commune nouvelle).
  • 01/01/2017 – Création de la commune nouvelle de Mougon-Thorigné en lieu et place des communes de Mougon (79185) et de Thorigné (79327) devenues déléguées.
