This municipality has experienced contour changes since 2012 :

  • 01/01/2016 – Athis-de-l'Orne devient commune déléguée (chef-lieu) au sein d'Athis-Val de Rouvre (61007) (commune nouvelle).
  • 01/01/2016 – Création de la commune nouvelle d'Athis-Val de Rouvre en lieu et place des communes d'Athis-de-l'Orne (61007), de Bréel (61058), de La Carneille (61073), de Notre-Dame-du-Rocher (61313), de Ronfeugerai (61353), de Ségrie-Fontaine (61465), de Taillebois (61478) et des Tourailles (61489) devenues déléguées.
