This municipality has experienced contour changes since 2012 :

  • 01/01/2016 – Pré-en-Pail devient commune déléguée (chef-lieu) au sein de Pré-en-Pail-Saint-Samson (53185) (commune nouvelle).
  • 01/01/2016 – Création de la commune nouvelle de Pré-en-Pail-Saint-Samson en lieu et place des communes de Pré-en-Pail (53185) et de Saint-Samson (53252) devenues déléguées.
