This municipality has experienced contour changes since 2012 :

  • 01/01/2016 – Loiron devient commune déléguée (chef-lieu) au sein de Loiron-Ruillé (53137) (commune nouvelle).
  • 01/01/2016 – Création de la commune nouvelle de Loiron-Ruillé en lieu et place des communes de Loiron (53137) et de Ruillé-le-Gravelais (53194) devenues déléguées.
