This municipality has experienced contour changes since 2012 :

  • 01/01/2016 – Ay devient commune déléguée (chef-lieu) au sein d'Aÿ-Champagne (51030) (commune nouvelle).
  • 01/01/2016 – Création de la commune nouvelle d'Aÿ-Champagne en lieu et place des communes d'Ay (51030), de Bisseuil (51064) et de Mareuil-sur-Ay (51347) devenues déléguées.
