This municipality has experienced contour changes since 2012 :

  • 01/01/2016 – Fontaine-Guérin devient commune déléguée (chef-lieu) au sein des Bois d'Anjou (49138) (commune nouvelle).
  • 01/01/2016 – Création de la commune nouvelle des Bois d'Anjou en lieu et place des communes de Brion (49049), de Fontaine-Guérin (49138) et de Saint-Georges-du-Bois (49280) devenues déléguées.
