This municipality has experienced contour changes since 2012 :

  • 01/01/2016 – Saint-Denis-du-Pin devient commune déléguée (chef-lieu) au sein d'Essouvert (17277) (commune nouvelle).
  • 01/01/2016 – Création de la commune nouvelle d'Essouvert en lieu et place des communes de La Benâte (17040) et de Saint-Denis-du-Pin (17277) devenues déléguées.
