This municipality has experienced contour changes since 2012:

  • 01/01/2017 – Saint-James devient commune déléguée (chef-lieu) au sein de Saint-James (50487) (commune nouvelle).
  • 01/01/2017 – Création de la commune nouvelle de Saint-James en lieu et place des communes d'Argouges (50018), de Carnet (50100), de La Croix-Avranchin (50154), de Montanel (50337), de Saint-James (50487), de Vergoncey (50627) et de Villiers-le-Pré (50640) devenues déléguées.
