This municipality has experienced contour changes since 2012:

  • 01/01/2024 – Saint-Saviol devient commune déléguée (chef-lieu) au sein de Val-de-Comporté (86247) (commune nouvelle).
  • 01/01/2024 – Création de la commune nouvelle de Val-de-Comporté en lieu et place des communes de Saint-Macoux (86231) et de Saint-Saviol (86247) devenues déléguées.
