This municipality has experienced contour changes since 2012:

  • 01/01/2016 – Orval devient commune déléguée (chef-lieu) au sein d'Orval sur Sienne (50388) (commune nouvelle).
  • 01/01/2016 – Création de la commune nouvelle d'Orval sur Sienne en lieu et place des communes de Montchaton (50339) et d'Orval (50388) devenues déléguées.
