This municipality has experienced contour changes since 2012:

  • 01/01/2019 – Pays de Clerval (commune chef-lieu) est rattachée à Pays-de-Clerval (25156) (commune nouvelle).
  • 01/01/2019 – Clerval reste commune (chef-lieu) non déléguée au sein de Pays-de-Clerval (25156) (commune nouvelle).
  • 01/01/2019 – Création de la commune nouvelle de Pays-de-Clerval en lieu et place des communes de Chaux-lès-Clerval (25140) et de Pays de Clerval (25156).
  • 01/01/2017 – Clerval (commune chef-lieu) est rattachée à Pays de Clerval (25156) (commune nouvelle).
  • 01/01/2017 – Création de la commune nouvelle de Pays de Clerval en lieu et place des communes de Clerval (25156) et de Santoche (25531).
