This municipality has experienced contour changes since 2011:

  • 01/01/2019 – Nieul-sur-l'Autise devient commune déléguée (chef-lieu) au sein de Rives-d'Autise (85162) (commune nouvelle).
  • 01/01/2019 – Création de la commune nouvelle de Rives-d'Autise en lieu et place des communes de Nieul-sur-l'Autise (85162) et d'Oulmes (85168) devenues déléguées.
