This municipality has experienced contour changes since 2011:

  • 01/01/2017 – La Mothe-Achard devient commune déléguée (chef-lieu) au sein des Achards (85152) (commune nouvelle).
  • 01/01/2017 – Création de la commune nouvelle des Achards en lieu et place des communes de La Chapelle-Achard (85052) et de La Mothe-Achard (85152) devenues déléguées.
