This municipality has experienced contour changes since 2011:

  • 01/01/2016 – Belleville-sur-Vie devient commune déléguée (chef-lieu) au sein de Bellevigny (85019) (commune nouvelle).
  • 01/01/2016 – Création de la commune nouvelle de Bellevigny en lieu et place des communes de Belleville-sur-Vie (85019) et de Saligny (85279) devenues déléguées.
