This municipality has experienced contour changes since 2011:

  • 01/01/2017 – Auzay devient commune déléguée (chef-lieu) au sein d'Auchay-sur-Vendée (85009) (commune nouvelle).
  • 01/01/2017 – Création de la commune nouvelle d'Auchay-sur-Vendée en lieu et place des communes d'Auzay (85009) et de Chaix (85044) devenues déléguées.
