This municipality has experienced contour changes since 2011:

  • 01/01/2016 – Allenwiller devient commune déléguée (chef-lieu) au sein de Sommerau (67004) (commune nouvelle).
  • 01/01/2016 – Création de la commune nouvelle de Sommerau en lieu et place des communes d'Allenwiller (67004), de Birkenwald (67041), de Salenthal (67431) et de Singrist (67469) devenues déléguées.
