This municipality has experienced contour changes since 2011:

  • 01/01/2019 – Gennes-sur-Glaize devient commune déléguée (chef-lieu) au sein de Gennes-Longuefuye (53104) (commune nouvelle).
  • 01/01/2019 – Création de la commune nouvelle de Gennes-Longuefuye en lieu et place des communes de Gennes-sur-Glaize (53104) et de Longuefuye (53138) devenues déléguées.
