This municipality has experienced contour changes since 2011:

  • 15/12/2016 – Pouancé devient commune déléguée (chef-lieu) au sein d'Ombrée d'Anjou (49248) (commune nouvelle).
  • 15/12/2016 – Création de la commune nouvelle d'Ombrée d'Anjou en lieu et place des communes de La Chapelle-Hullin (49073), de Chazé-Henry (49088), de Combrée (49103), de Grugé-l'Hôpital (49156), de Noëllet (49226), de Pouancé (49248), de La Prévière (49250), de Saint-Michel-et-Chanveaux (49309), du Tremblay (49354) et de Vergonnes (49366) devenues déléguées.
