This municipality has experienced contour changes since 2011:

  • 01/01/2019 – Contres devient commune déléguée (chef-lieu) au sein du Controis-en-Sologne (41059) (commune nouvelle).
  • 01/01/2019 – Création de la commune nouvelle du Controis-en-Sologne en lieu et place des communes de Contres (41059), de Feings (41082), de Fougères-sur-Bièvre (41092), d'Ouchamps (41170) et de Thenay (41257) devenues déléguées.
