This municipality has experienced contour changes since 2011:

  • 01/01/2017 – Murat devient commune déléguée (chef-lieu) au sein de Murat (15138) (commune nouvelle).
  • 01/01/2017 – Création de la commune nouvelle de Murat en lieu et place des communes de Chastel-sur-Murat (15044) et de Murat (15138) devenues déléguées.
