This municipality has experienced contour changes since 2011:

  • 01/01/2017 – Langeais (commune chef-lieu) est rattachée à Langeais (37123) (commune nouvelle).
  • 01/01/2017 – Création de la commune nouvelle de Langeais en lieu et place des communes des Essards (37102) et de Langeais (37123).
