In early 2021, 92% of wealth was owned by half of all households

In early 2021, half of the households reported their gross wealth to be higher than 177,200 euros. Gross wealth remained very unevenly distributed across the population: the top half of households owned 92% of wealth. Real estate accounted for 62% of the wealth of all households, but the 30% of households with the lowest wealth had little or no real estate. The amount of gross wealth increased steadily with age until the age of 60.
