Industrial raw material prices went down again
Prices in euros of industrial raw materials continued to fall in June (−4.5% after −9.1% in May), in the wake of those of mineral materials (−3.9% after −10.0%): the decline was marked for non-ferrous metals (−6.5% after −10.3%) and more modest for the prices of precious metals (−1.5% after −4.5%) and ferrous metals (−0.2% after −10.9%).
The prices of agro-industrial raw materials shrank even more sharply (−7.5% after −3.8%), due in particular to those for sawn softwood which continued to tumble (−22.5% after −15.8%). Prices for paper pulp (−1.1% after +2.1%), natural textile fibres (−4.2% after +7.4%) and hides (−4.1% after +1.6%) retreated, and those for tropical woods slightly decreased again (−0.9% after −1.6%). Conversely, rubber prices recovered (+0.9% after −2.5%).
