This municipality has experienced contour changes since 2010:

  • 01/01/2013 – Thizy devient commune déléguée (chef-lieu) au sein de Thizy-les-Bourgs (69248) (commune nouvelle).
  • 01/01/2013 – Création de la commune nouvelle de Thizy-les-Bourgs en lieu et place des communes de Bourg-de-Thizy (69025), de La Chapelle-de-Mardore (69041), de Mardore (69128), de Marnand (69129) et de Thizy (69248) devenues déléguées.
