This municipality has experienced contour changes since 2010:

  • 01/01/2016 – Mézières-sur-Issoire devient commune déléguée (chef-lieu) au sein de Val d'Issoire (87097) (commune nouvelle).
  • 01/01/2016 – Création de la commune nouvelle de Val d'Issoire en lieu et place des communes de Bussière-Boffy (87026) et de Mézières-sur-Issoire (87097) devenues déléguées.
