This municipality has experienced contour changes since 2010:

  • 01/01/2019 – Châteauneuf-sur-Sarthe devient commune déléguée (chef-lieu) au sein des Hauts-d'Anjou (49080) (commune nouvelle).
  • 01/01/2019 – Création de la commune nouvelle des Hauts-d'Anjou en lieu et place des communes des Hauts d'Anjou (49065) et de Châteauneuf-sur-Sarthe (49080).
