This municipality has experienced contour changes since 2010:

  • 01/01/2019 – Le Poiré-sur-Velluire devient commune déléguée (chef-lieu) au sein des Velluire-sur-Vendée (85177) (commune nouvelle).
  • 01/01/2019 – Création de la commune nouvelle des Velluire-sur-Vendée en lieu et place des communes du Poiré-sur-Velluire (85177) et de Velluire (85299) devenues déléguées.
