This municipality has experienced contour changes since 2010:

  • 01/01/2016 – Putanges-Pont-Écrepin devient commune déléguée (chef-lieu) au sein de Putanges-le-Lac (61339) (commune nouvelle).
  • 01/01/2016 – Création de la commune nouvelle de Putanges-le-Lac en lieu et place des communes de Chênedouit (61106), de La Forêt-Auvray (61174), de La Fresnaye-au-Sauvage (61179), de Ménil-Jean (61270), de Putanges-Pont-Écrepin (61339), de Rabodanges (61340), des Rotours (61354), de Saint-Aubert-sur-Orne (61364) et de Sainte-Croix-sur-Orne (61378) devenues déléguées.
