  • 01/01/2016 – Bourgneuf-en-Retz devient commune déléguée (chef-lieu) au sein de Villeneuve-en-Retz (44021) (commune nouvelle).
  • 01/01/2016 – Création de la commune nouvelle de Villeneuve-en-Retz en lieu et place des communes de Bourgneuf-en-Retz (44021) et de Fresnay-en-Retz (44059) devenues déléguées.
