Over a year, the Consumer Price Index (CPI) should rise by 4.8% in April 2022, after +4.5% in the previous month, according to the provisional estimate made at the end of the month. This increase in inflation should result from the acceleration of service, food and manufactured good prices. Energy prices should continue to rise sharply over one year.
Over one month, consumer prices should rise by 0.4%, after +1.4% in March. The prices of energy should fall back, linked with the drop in petroleum product prices, and those of manufactured goods should slow down. The prices of services should accelerate, notably due to a seasonal rebound of transport service prices. The increase in food prices should be more sustained than in the previous month.
Year on year, the Harmonised Index of Consumer Prices should rise by 5.4%, after +5.1% in March. Over one month, it should increase by 0.5%, after +1.6% in the previous month.
