Turnover in the manufacturing industry went up sharply over a year (+10.0%)
Industry turnover over the last three months under review (September to November) went up strongly compared to that of the corresponding three months of the 2020 year (+10.0% for the manufacturing industry, +13.8% for the whole industry). The growth was particularly pronounced in “other manufacturing” (+14.3%), in the manufacture of coke and refined petroleum products (+75.0%) and in mining and quarrying; energy; water supply; waste management (+30.1%), with significant price effects. The increase was also pronounced in the manufacture of food products and beverages (+8.5%) and the manufacture of machinery and equipment goods (+5.2%). Conversely, turnover declined sharply in the manufacture of transport equipment (–10.4%).
Revisions
The percentage change of the turnover index in October 2021 in the manufacturing industry was left unchanged (–0.4%) compared to the previous publication; it was revised upwards at +0.3% instead of stability for industry as a whole.
