on the rise Prices of oil and raw material imports - December 2021
In December 2021, the price of oil in euros fell again (−7.3% after −1.4% in November). The prices in euros of imported raw materials (excluding energy) increased sharply (+5.2% after −0.6%) under the effect of the strong rebound of industrial raw materials (+7.3% after −4.7%) and the acceleration of food commodity prices (+3.8% after +2.4%).
As rapeseed oil, wool and hide prices for December 2021 are not yet available from the data provider, they have been assumed to be constant in dollar terms for this publication. This hypothesis affects in particular the aggregate price index for oilseeds (and therefore for food commodities) and for natural textile fibres (and therefore for agro-industrial raw materials). The values will be revised in the next publication, when the relevant prices are published.
