47.7 million voters on the French electoral lists in February 2020
In February 2020, 47.7 million citizens were registered on the French electoral lists, including 1.3 million living outside France and registered on a consular list (overseas voters). On the national territory, 94% of French citizens of voting age are registered on a list.
The number of people registered on the lists increased by 544,000 between April 2019 and February 2020. Over this period, 2.4 million French people made a voluntary process of registering on an electoral list. The Portuguese are the most numerous foreigners on the complementary lists, which lost 46,000 nationals of the United Kingdom with Brexit.
